ARE YOU THE PESSIMIST OR THE OPTIMIST?

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill

Not being political here; just being real.

These days it feels like we keep facing one hardship after another. And now it's gotten to the point that people are staying home. Whether that's to work from home, or not, either way, it's tough times ahead, for sure.

Like I've stated in previous posts, with patience and focus on what actions we can take now, we can pave our way forward for a brighter future.

I was just talking to a friend earlier today and we discussed how things are tough but the real question was: what were we gonna do about it?

We could wallow and complain in our misery and/or boredom OR we could accept the situation and do something with the (extra) time we're given.

Here's my take with what I've done or will do:

  1. Practice more self-care I used to think this was BS. No joke. Between the protests and the pandemic - it eventually became part of daily routine. Taking the time to center myself and be present through activities as simple as breathing or playing with my cats, kept the negative thoughts at bay.

  2. Take advantage and start learning again How many times have you told yourself "I don't have time to learn (insert something here)"? Or "I'm tired. I'll start tomorrow". Then "tomorrow" never came and went, and before you know it, a year has passed. Now we got the time. Now we have the energy. So learn those things you said you would, because you never know when you'll have this kind of time again.

  3. Never give up One of the things I learned from competitions is that you never truly lose at anything until you quit. There's always something to learn from any situation whether you "won" or you "lost". There are times even when I win, I felt like I lost, and vice versa.

What do you plan to do during these times?
