The code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. -- Captain Barbosa from Pirates of the Caribbean
Keto. Paleo. Intermittent Fasting. If you choose to follow them, the hardest part is the consistency and sustainability.
The rules if you were to follow them can make it hard to keep up for long.
Don't get me wrong. If they work for you, by all means do it. But before going into specifics, why not get your foundation right first?
Try these 5 tips before going into specific diets:
Eat mostly whole foods and minimal processed foods Being nutrient-dense is a sure way of giving your body the nutrients it needs to function and your brain to think.
Have at least one fist ful of vegetable in every meal Vegetables are a great source of vitamins and minerals. Plus the fiber will fill you up and keep you full longer
Have at least one palm of protein of protein in every meal Protein is needed for growth and repair. Whether that's from a hard session at the gym, or a light jog, our bodies will still need some sort of fixing
Drink at least 2L of water We're made of at least 70% water so it makes sense to replenish what we lose through daily activities
Practice mindful eating Don't forget to enjoy your food. It's not just fuel to keep you alive but it's something to enjoy on a daily basis.
