BE KIND TO YOURSELF


Growing up, the New Year celebrations were about meeting family and friends👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, eating🍽️, parlour games🃏, and story telling📖. But it wasn’t always like that. There was a period in my youth where Christmas and New Year stressed me out.


I was worried about

😱 “letting go” so much I’d get fat

🤬 going crazy with my eating

Essentially, I was being my harshest critic.


Over the years, I learned that

🛤️ it’s about progression and NOT perfection

🍱 a few meals will not ruin months of progress

📸 memories with my loved ones are more important than weight

🥳 there’s no shame or guilt in enjoying food and time

❤️ I had to be kind to myself


With those thoughts in mind, welcoming New Years became more relaxed for me.
