HOW TO FEAST & NOT GET FAT DURING HOLIDAYS šŸŽ„



Christmas is just around the corner and we all know what that means: FEASTS! I used to be one of those people that feared gaining weight during the holidays so I starved myself, or thought ā€œIā€™ll start my diet after the holidayā€. Thinking back, it was silly. These strategies led to me eating like it was my last meal šŸ¤Ŗ. Yes, the food was amazing and the friends and family even more so. It did NOT have to PAUSE my health. Instead, having guidelines kept me from regressing. Everyone is different; some of the guidelines I still use include šŸ› Eat normally before the party

If itā€™s a lunch party, have breakfastšŸ³šŸ„‘šŸž. If itā€™s a dinner party, Iā€™d have at least lunchšŸ± if not also breakfast. Doing so, I won't stuff myself during the event.

šŸ¤” Eat until satisfied. Not full

By paying attention to my hunger cues, I know when Iā€™ve had enough food. Generally I eat to 80% full then stop. This way, Iā€™m not hungry, but Iā€™m crazy full too.

šŸ“ Eat slowly by putting down utensils between bites šŸ’§šŸ„— Always have vegetables and water during meals From there, it was practice. Initially, it was hard. I had to constantly remind myself what Iā€™m doing and why Iā€™m doing it. It was like playing mindgames with myself šŸ¤Æ. Over time, it got easier. These days, itā€™s second nature. I still have ā€œoffā€ days but the majority of my days are spent guilt-free!
