We all know we gotta eat food to fuel our bodiesđ, drink to keep us hydratedđ§, stretch and foam roll to keep our bodies mobile and knot-free. Did you know you also need QUANTITY 7ď¸âŁ8ď¸âŁ9ď¸âŁ and QUALITY đđ SLEEP?
I used to think it was just about the hours, so I thought it was the other areas in my life that needed "fixing".
Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep a night. I was getting 8 hours on average and yet, I was still exhausted when I woke upđŞ, slow when I moved or made decisionsđ¤, struggling during trainingđď¸ââď¸. All directions pointed to poor sleep quality.
As usual, I did a bit of research and asked professionals for advice. I hated the idea of meditating đ§, so that was not an option; although, I was open to other methods. I settled onto creating a NIGHT ROUTINE đâłand made sure my bedroom was purely for sleepđ. Doing so cued my body whenever it was time to sleep.
After months of practicing my night routine, I started to feel more rested when I wake upđ. My movement patterns have become faster and sharperđŞ, my mind feels clearer and ready to make decisionsđ¤. I feel like a new, more capable person, both mentally and physically.
