We all know we gotta eat food to fuel our bodies🍛, drink to keep us hydrated💧, stretch and foam roll to keep our bodies mobile and knot-free. Did you know you also need QUANTITY 7️⃣8️⃣9️⃣ and QUALITY 👍👎 SLEEP?
I used to think it was just about the hours, so I thought it was the other areas in my life that needed "fixing".
Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep a night. I was getting 8 hours on average and yet, I was still exhausted when I woke up😪, slow when I moved or made decisions🤔, struggling during training🏋️♀️. All directions pointed to poor sleep quality.
As usual, I did a bit of research and asked professionals for advice. I hated the idea of meditating 🧘, so that was not an option; although, I was open to other methods. I settled onto creating a NIGHT ROUTINE 🌌⏳and made sure my bedroom was purely for sleep🛌. Doing so cued my body whenever it was time to sleep.
After months of practicing my night routine, I started to feel more rested when I wake up😃. My movement patterns have become faster and sharper💪, my mind feels clearer and ready to make decisions🤓. I feel like a new, more capable person, both mentally and physically.
