Has this ever happened to you?
You want to lean up a bit. If it’s possible, get stronger too. You know your diet has something to do with it, but have no idea what it is. You research 🤓and find many sources say protein shakes are the key to leaning up and getting stronger so you do it. Every time you workout, you chug down a protein shake after.
That used to be me until 4 years ago. I used to drink a lot of protein shakes, spending a lot of money on them in the process. So it’s really frustrating when muscle gains aren’t as much as I expected.
What’s worse was my progress plateaued. What next?!
I had to go back to the drawing board. I took some classes and read research papers, until I found the solution! The more interesting part was that I didn’t have to take protein shakes at all. 💪💪
One of the strategies I’ve learned and still do to this day if I wanted to build muscle was to be mindful of my post-training meals. I had to make sure I had sufficient protein AND carbs intake after training. 🤯
The fresh dose of protein gives my body the needed building blocks to repair the damage from training, and the carbs prevent the muscles that I already have from being used as an energy source.
